Description: This unique vegetable resembles asparagus with its long stalks but topped by delicate broccoli like buds. Harvest first central shoot to encourage better side shoot production. Side shoots continue for about four weeks in mild weather. Sweet and tender the flavor has notes of both broccoli and asparagus. This versatile vegetable can be eaten raw, sautéed, steamed or stir fried.
