Description: Fennel’s delicate wispy leaves and licorice flavored, smooth white bulbs are extremely adaptable in the kitchen. The white or pale green Fennel bulb grows stalks topped with feathery green leaves on which flowers grow and produce fennel seeds. The bulb, stalk, leaves and seeds are all edible. Bulb production occurs in the fall but the foliage can be picked for salads and garnish throughout the season. Slice the bulb very thin to use in salads or slaws.
